The name fin is used to identify the surplus candidates of a Finned Fish. This surplus is confined to a single box. The remaining candidates in the pattern form an X-Wing, Swordfish or Jellyfish.
When the fin occupies more than one cell, it is a big fin. Complex fish patterns may even have multiple fins.
